Scottish Project Progress

At the end of last week we were back on site at our Scottish project, north of Inverness. We are really excited to bring this project to fruition over the coming months, both as a wedding venue and holiday lets.

Julian Chichester Collaboration

We are delighted that Julian Chichester have got involved with our 'Kelling Loves by...' collaborations. See below the combination of some of their beautiful pieces of furniture and responses to our '5 minutes with...' questions, answered by Jodie Hopkins, Director at Julian Chichester:

What do you think are the most important features when designing a space?  Never be afraid to fill a space with things you love, they are a reflection of you, of your life and your family, telling a thousand stories.  A space needs to nestle around you and should constantly evolve.

What is the one thing you would have to have in every property you ever lived in? A quooker hot tap

What is your favourite colour? Blue

What if your favourite piece of furniture? An antique Victorian school bookcase with leaded windows – I absolutely adore it.

And finally, our ‘verging on the ridiculous’, quick fire questions:

  • Coffee or green juice in the morning? Coffee
  • What country would you most like to live in? Italy
  • Bold colours or neutrals?  The Bolder the better
  • Royal Academy or Tate Modern? Tate
  • Soho House or Firmdale? Soho House or can I say The Pigs?
  • North or South of the River? South
  • Mini or Maserati? Mini – I wouldn’t trust myself with a Maserati!
  • Sun or Snow Holiday? Both
  • Pug or Parrot? Pug
  • Brunch or Cocktails? Cocktails
  • Sushi or Beef Wellington? Sushi

Kelling Christmas Party - Finally!

The Kelling Christmas party finally happened - 2 months late!! We teamed up with Palace Gate and had a thoroughly entertaining afternoon whipping round the go-karting track in Mitcham. Edmund’s job was on the line after he made the bold statement that he would leave Kelling if he didn’t win, so we were rather relieved that he did!!

Chestertons Private View @ RA

Emma thoroughly enjoyed a private view of the Charles I exhibition at the Royal Academy, courtesy of Chestertons.

He knew a thing or two about collecting!

Chalet Drinks Party

A few of the team were out in Meribel last week, hosting a drinks party on Wednesday evening in one of our recently installed chalets. Back in England, while we were pleased to hear that it was a great success, we were also jealous to be told about the fabulous weather and snow conditions!!

New KD2 Photos

We are thrilled with these photos of our latest KD2 furniture staging project. This was a fabulous 5-bedroom property, marketed by Knight Frank and the colour and fun that we intended to appeal to the family market has been captured beautifully by Tom St Aubyn.

Robert Langford Collaboration

We have very much enjoyed collaborating with Robert Langford on one of our 'Kelling Loves by...'. Robert has also answered our '5 minutes with...' questions which always make for entertaining reading!

What do you think are the most important features when designing a space?  I like it when people make an effort to reflect their personality as soon as they open the front door to a visitor. From a well-dressed entrance table, art that they love and even their favourite fragrance.

What is the one thing you would have to have in every property you ever lived in? A dog to rule the roost, oh, and a dishwasher.

What is your favourite colour? Green

What if your favourite piece of furniture? My bed, I splashed out on one of our new Prestige beds last year, it’s changed my life.

And finally, our ‘verging on the ridiculous’, quick fire questions:

  • Coffee or green juice in the morning? Coffee
  • What country would you most like to live in? South Africa
  • Bold colours or neutrals?  Neutrals in the UK, Bold in South Africa
  • Royal Academy or Tate Modern?  Royal Academy
  • Soho House or Firmdale?  Firmdale
  • North or South of the River?  South is best
  • Mini or Maserati?  Maserati
  • Sun or Snow Holiday?  Sun
  • Pug or Parrot?  I would have to say Beagle
  • Brunch or Cocktails? Brunch
  • Sushi or Beef Wellington? Beef Wellington

Rave Reviews

We love hearing such positive reviews from those who have stayed in the various holiday cottages that we have designed. One such property is Red Gates, an 18th Century Highland Coach House, north of Inverness, where we are currently involved in a large development project of a wedding venue and further holiday lets. Watch this space as it will be quite something!

If you are looking for beautiful places to stay 'up North!', or in Norfolk, then look no further!

New Chalet Photos

A taster of images from our December installation in Meribel. This was a total transformation of a great 3 bedroom chalet, on a relatively low budget and a super-quick turnaround.

More Chalet Installations

Last week we were back out in the Alps installing our Meribel project. The chalet is looking fabulous and we are delighted that our client is thrilled with the result;

"I just wanted to say thank you for the work that the team at Kelling have done for us in Méribel. It is a fantastic achievement given the complexity of juggling the distance, logistics, suppliers etc that it has all come together so well. I for one certainly underestimated the amount of work involved. Gina and Harriet did a great job this week unpacking and ensuring everything was in place. The chalet is looking amazing and it is a great testament to the work that you are able to do in the Alps. I could not have asked for more and would always be happy to recommend Kelling."

The professional photos will follow - we can't wait to see them!

Christmas Message from Emma

Please Help Us To Support This Fantastic Christmas Cause

Dear All,

Ditching the day job and concentrating on a charity very close to my heart – please can I ask you to download the single below, for 99p. It will fuel a fantastic story and make the reality of the Nook, our new children’s hospice in Norfolk, that much closer.
Wishing you all a VERY Happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year.

'Merry Merry Christmas (EACH and All)' by Unity, is available to purchase now.

We know how busy everybody is, particularly at this time of year, but we would be so grateful

if you could take less than two minutes to visit the website and download the single from Amazon or Spotify. iTunes is coming soon.

WE NEED YOUR HELP to make it number 1, currently at 14 in the charts - please support this fantastic cause!

Every penny that is earned from this Christmas single is going towards the building of a new children’s hospice in Norfolk called ‘The Nook’, which will be able to support many more families and children through difficulties.

The back story:

This is a powerful story of 5 children who have found each other and using their beautiful voices as a powerful message for good.

Five step-siblings aged from 12 to 17 have formed a band called Unity. After financial and relationship struggles their respective parents Kevin and Deborah managed to find each other and are now happily married and their children are thriving. They have not let their dramatic pasts get the better of them and they have channelled all of their family strength into supporting the children and families of EACH (East Anglia Children’s Hospices).

The charity is supported HRH the Duchess of Cambridge and singer Ed Sheeran.

Ben, Paige, Piper, Hannah and Eddie all hope that you will help them raise money for EACH this Christmas by buying their single. They believe that ‘music has the power to unite people for a common cause’ and this is the sole aim of their Christmas Single. They had a wonderful time making this song and hope that you all enjoy it too!

Please spread the word!

Kelling Loves Christmas
