Guy Allen Art
Guy Allen is a London and Norfolk-based artist, dividing his time between his studios accompanied by his trusty wire-haired dachshund, Loaf. The animal kingdom features largely in Allen’s delicate yet powerful etchings, punctuated with bursts of colour, Swarovski crystals and gold leaf. To create his pieces, Guy marries the traditional technique of etching and the printmaking process with contemporary subject matter, which included a flurry of butterflies, a waxing crescent moon, and block-coloured renderings of gentle horses. Each of his quietly confident pieces fuse his elegant quality of line and punchy colours that highlight and add movement to his subjects.
