Kelling Christmas Gift Guide 2022

‘Tis the season to be jolly and generous. Choosing presents for loved ones and creating your very own Christmas wishlist is a pleasure reserved for long, cosy, winter evenings, mooching around your favourite shops or scrolling through their Instagram feeds for inspiration. Considering what kind of gift you, your best friend, a sibling, a grandparent or your favourite aunt might treasure can be a mindful, grounding activity as you dedicate time and space to thinking solely of those you love. In the spirit of gift-giving and receiving, this month, the Kelling Designs team shares some of their must-have pieces, from pyjamas to salt and pepper grinders.

Emma – Founder & Creative Director

What’s on your Christmas list?

This Beatrice von Tresckow coat - the colours are so vibrant and I love the khaki detailing.

And is there anything you covet from the KDLoves collection?

Our Beau lamp in teal. It’s big and beautiful and it means business! But, it’s still so elegant and works almost anywhere in the home.

What will you be gifting this year?

This year, I’m doing things a little differently and taking most of my family to Mamma Mia! The Party. My friends and I have agreed that, rather than give gifts, we will make a donation to a charity of our choice. I have given to The Norfolk Foundation’s Surviving Winter Appeal.

I love Desmond & Dempsey for its patterns and colourways, and this pair is so fun and feminine.

Like Emma, it’s our large ceramic Beau lamp, but in moss. The glaze is to die for!

The top picks on my children’s Christmas lists are Playmobil and a Fairy Potion Making kit.

What will you be gifting this year?

This year, I’m buying this beach bag from Rae Feather for my mum. We’re celebrating Christmas in Sri Lanka, so I think it’ll be the perfect beach accessory.

What’s on your Christmas list?

Currently, in the Kelling showroom, we have a pop-up of paintings from the British Art Portfolio. My favourite is a striking, framed oil painting by Josephine Trotter, an Oxfordshire-based artist.

Is there anything you covet from the KDLoves collection?

I love the golden richness of our gorgeous limited edition large yellow and blue artisan lumbar cushion with striking cornflower blues and purples. By chance, I think this might work in the same room as the picture above – a similar colour palette!

What will you be gifting this year?

A gift I am planning to give my brother and sister-in-law is this brilliant Beau lamp. There are some fabulous colours to choose from but I think the orange colourway will really add a bit of zing to their room.

I love Anya Hindmarch’s Dairy Milk sequin evening bag. What an absolute dream - I’ve had my eye on it for years.

The Limited Edition Ikat cushion with striped woven back and forest green fringe. I love a ruffled edge and it would look so lovely on my sofa.

What will you be gifting?

We’ve been so lucky to collaborate with British artist, Guy Allen, over the years. I’ll be gifting one of the incredible Diamond Dust lamps we worked on together. A friend of mine has been badgering me about it since I first mentioned how cool it is.

What’s on your Christmas list?

The versatility of this Pink City Prints dress made it a best-seller for the company this autumn. I love the timeless block print and would wear it all year round.

I love this hand-embroidered Suzani fabric cushion. It can add a statement to any room and I know it’s a popular one amongst our team.

What will you be gifting?

I love to give loved ones gifts for their homes and these placemats from Balu Ldn lend any table a perfect pop of colour. I’ll be wrapping some up for my Mum this Christmas.

Rose - Intern

What’s on your Christmas list?

I love Rixo’s curated collections and this hot pink sequin dress is the ultimate party frock.

Is there anything you covet from the KDLoves collection?

The Liz lampshade. I love all the colours (which might make choosing a little tricky!) and how it goes with absolutely everything.

What will you be gifting?

Adding pops of colour and unexpected silhouettes to the home can make a welcome impact, so I’ll be gifting the KDLoves salt and pepper grinder. The colours are so vibrant because each piece is finished with 20 layers of high gloss lacquer and is polished between each coat.

What’s on your Christmas list?

Having just been accepted to run the London marathon, I’m going to need a good pair of running trainers!

Is there anything you covet from the KDLoves collection?

The Ivy lamp in Sky - I just love the colour and its flexibility. It would look great on a bedside table and it functions perfectly as a desk lamp.

What will you be gifting?

Again, our Addison Ross salt and pepper grinders. Such a fun gift for the cooks of the house!
