  • ~ 45 cocoa powder

  • ~ 150g light brown caster sugar

  • ~ 150g dark muscovado sugar

  • ~ 190g butter, at room temperature

  • ~ 1 large or 2 small eggs

  • ~ 3/4 tsp bicarbonate soda

  • ~ Pinch of salt

  • ~ 230g white and milk chocolate buttons or chunks

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees and line two baking trays with greaseproof paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl mix together the sugar and butter with an electric whisk for a few minutes, until smooth and paler in colour.

  3. In a separate bowl combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt and bicarbonate of soda.

  4. Whisk in the eggs to the butter mix and then add the flour mix, beating till a smooth cooking dough batter forms

  5. Then stir through the chocolate buttons or chunks making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

  6. Split into 14 balls, rolling in your hands and place them on your baking tray trying to get as much distance between them as possible.

  7. Place in the oven and cook for 20 minutes or until crisp round the edge but soft in the middle. Once out transfer to a rack to cool before eating them when warm!
