Meet the team… Georgie Wood

What do you do at Kelling Designs? 

I handle the marketing and PR side of things for the company and am also a communications & social media consultant. 

How long have you worked there?

It will be six years in March – how did that happen?! I moved to Yorkshire nearly 3 years ago so have been working remotely since then, with monthly trips down to the office.

What did you do before joining the company?

I was at the University of Bristol and actually started my job at Kelling Designs a few months before taking my final exams. That was a crazy few months.

Any favourite Kelling Designs projects?

I love the work we do in stately homes. The proportions of every piece of furniture and every accessory need to be on a whole different scale.  It’s always amazing and so rewarding to see the projects through from the very start to completion, especially because we use as much of the pre-existing furniture as possible in new and exciting ways. This gives these historic homes a new lease of life in the modern world. 

What is your most prized piece from KDLoves?

I have two lovely Silvy lamps that the team gave to me as a housewarming present when I bought my cottage. They sit proudly on my dressing table and go beautifully with the colour scheme!

Tell me a favourite anecdote from working at Kelling Designs…

Internal prank calls to team members – a long time ago… I couldn’t possibly say any more, but rest assured, it was all harmless and lighthearted!

What are you known for in the studio?

Even though I no longer work in the office, my obsession with chocolate buttons is well-documented.
